Last Year's Honoree was John Reed, RIP

In addition to getting to mingle and connect with old friends and political compatriots, we will be honoring John Reed, a longtime member who passed earlier this year. The General Membership of CIDC unanimously voted to name the Community Service Award in his honor. Jeni Wheeler will be presented with the first John L. Reed Community Service Award for her work in the foundation of the Family Table Collaborative in Yarmouth, John's own town. The collaborative has played an important role in the past few years in providing for food security on the Cape.

The annual Democrat of the Year award will be presented to Carla Cooper of Edgartown on Martha's Vineyard for her work in coordinating the exemplary voter turnout on the Island. We will also hear and celebrate our successes of last fall's campaign and hear the future work that lays ahead with new leadership here on the cape and in Boston.

Take Action

To achieve our mission, we believe in combining online and offline activism. We honor our digital activists using leaderboards and shout outs at in-person events. Long ago, we removed the word slactivist from our vocabulary.
